SMYN Network – A New Era

Welcome back! We’ve missed you and you probably missed us, too.

Well, it’s been a whirlwind of a couple months, mixed with some burnout, life-changing news, and tragedy. If you have been out of loop, you’ve probably missed some of this news.

– Miles (Solharath) does not have reliable podcasting Internet access until November, putting the future of the SMYN podcast in doubt
– Challenges were consistent with our audio server, causing podcast episodes to go offline for an extended period of time
– Our community suffered personal tragedy when we lost one of our own
– Burnout happens every now and then, but rarely to the extent it did for all of us
– Rachel and I got ENGAGED! More on this later…
– After a site-wide server move, our front page had to be rebuilt from scratch

That said, we are now back with a vengeance, with some news to announce after the break!

Show Lineup to Change in June

Rachel’s move to the United States this summer will bring about some changes in how I approach online media for the SMYN Network. WTF, Pokémon!?! will unfortunately be coming to an end. Down the Sidelines will likely be going through some hosting changes. A new YouTube show featuring Rachel and me will be debuting upon her arrival.

That’s not all, though. The List will also be going through some hosting changes. Show Me Your News! will be undergoing a format change to accommodate for new co-hosts, supplemented by more timely Soapbox features on YouTube. Our SMYN Network YouTube channel will be hosting Let’s Play content on a regular basis.

There are significant changes coming soon to what our network offers. We will be reformatting our Patreon page with these changes, then those occur. We will be announcing each of these when we are ready to make them official.

One Centralized Twitch Channel

You are going to want to follow SMYNnetwork on Twitch.

Our different hosts have had several Twitch accounts that we have streamed games from. SMYN_Eevee. ShowMeYourNews. RTMShow. Why have so many, when each can only deliver content every so often?

By consolidating our efforts into one channel, we will be able to stream more often, under a newly branded layout, with new opportunities available to us.

It’s just that simple. One channel to follow. All of the SMYN Network streaming content for you to watch.

A Website Under Construction

Now that our homepage is back, it is stable, but it is far from perfect.

Over time, we will be filling the site with content from the past, adding new features, and adjusting existing pages. This includes the Reviews section of the website, where we hope to develop it into a fully-fledged part of what we offer soon.

Even though we are relaunching today, we have a long way to go until we reach the point where we want to be.
